Our vision
A journey to the far east coast of Tasmania
Born and raised in Tasmania, Chris had a passion for the incredible landscape of his home state. Growing up in Scotland, surrounded by a family of enthusiastic cooks, Alice’s love of good food developed at a young age. In 2008, while living and working in London, their paths collided at Glastonbury music festival.
During a trip home to Tasmania, Chris and Alice were surprised that they couldn’t buy a local sea salt when the pristine natural environment of Tasmania seemed ideal for harvesting a pure and clean sea salt. Thus, the seed was planted, and in 2013 they took leap, moving from London back to Chris’ home-state to set up Tasman Sea Salt.

Chris and Alice believe that purity is what makes their salt so special – both in terms of provenance and flavour. As passionate food lovers and long-time advocates for Tasmanian produce they have found their calling with Tasman Sea Salt, creating a beautiful product made with integrity.
