Salt Harvesting

Clean Energy Salt Harvesting

Protecting our pristine environment

We believe it is our responsibility to protect the ocean that gives us so much. That is why we’ve pioneered a world-first, clean-energy harvesting process – harnessing the natural rhythm of evaporation, enhanced by solar power and thermal energy from the ocean itself. In doing so, we honour our values, ensuring that every flake of salt is created with integrity, care, and a deep respect for the place we call home.

Our Saltworks

Purity

The worlds cleanest ocean

Situated at the edge of the wild Southern Ocean, Tasmania is surrounded by the cleanest, most nutrient-rich waters on Earth. From this extraordinary source comes the pure, ocean taste and remarkable depth of flavour that defines Tasman Sea Salt.

Provenance

Protecting our environment

Preserving these beautiful surrounds is central to the ethos of Tasman Sea Salt. We utilise age old salt harvesting traditions alongside innovative new clean energy technologies, to remain true to our core value of creating an environmentally sustainable business.

Process

A unique clean energy harvesting process

At Tasman Sea Salt, we’ve pioneered a world-first harvesting process, unlike any other in the world. Working with nature’s own rhythms of evaporation, and enhancing them with renewable energy from the sun and the warmth of the ocean, we create our pure, mineral-rich sea salt flakes using sustainable energy sources.

The innovation is in the technology, but the method remains beautifully simple – fresh water gently evaporated, leaving behind nothing but pristine white sea salt flakes, with nothing added and nothing taken away.
